To try out racing, you can participate in student races and training races organized in the area with a membership at DM.
Want more? Then getting a license from the KNWU is your best next step. Depending on your license type (sport class, amateur, promise/elite), you can participate in all races for that category both in the Netherlands and abroad. In both the men’s and women’s categories, several members have experience racing in a DM jersey, and there is always someone available to provide information or help. Of course, you can also contact the race committee for information.

With a license through DM, you can in principle participate in all races organized for your category, except the classics, which you can only enter with a team (these are usually elite/promise races). Unfortunately, DM does not have enough riders to send a full race team to the big races. If you want to ride these races, it is better to get a license from a nearby club that does have an elite/promise race team. If you get a license elsewhere, you can of course still be a member of DM.

Om het wedstrijdrijden uit te proberen kun je met een lidmaatschap bij DM, de studentenwedstrijden en de trainingswedstrijden die in de omgeving georganiseerd worden rijden.
Wil je meer? Dan is een licentie bij de KNWU je beste vervolgstap. Afhankelijk van je licentie (sportklasse, amateur, belofte/elite) kun je aan alle wedstrijden voor die categorie in binnen en buitenland deelnemen. Zowel in de mannen als vrouwen categorieën hebben er verschillende leden ervaring met het wedstrijdrijden in een DM-shirt en is er altijd iemand die je van informatie of hulp kan voorzien. Uiteraard kun je voor informatie ook terecht bij de wedstrijdcommissie. Met een licentie via DM kun je in principe deelnemen aan alle wedstrijden die voor jouw categorie georganiseerd worden, behalve de klassiekers waar je enkel met een ploeg aan kunt deelnemen (dit zijn meestal de elite/belofte wedstrijden). DM heeft helaas niet genoeg renners om een volledig wedstrijdteam naar de grote wedstrijden af te vaardigen. Wil je deze wedstrijden toch rijden? Dan is het handiger om een licentie bij een nabijgelegen club, met wel een elite/belofte wedstrijdteam, aan te vragen. Als je een licentie elders aanvraagt, kun je uiteraard wel gewoon lid zijn bij DM.
