Last Sunday the Dutch national student championships were organised by our colleagues of Mercurius. The challenging hilly circuit had to be endured by DM-members in every category. Some of them were more successful than others. But the vibes and quality of the cheering did not suffer from that.

The success started with a nice 2^nd place for Sophie in the non-licence women category. A solid performance considering that this was only her 2^nd (bike)race ever. Ymke finished 12^th in this same race. In the non-licence men category, Christiaan just missed the podium (4^th). He was stuck behind other riders in the uphill-sprint. A real shame, as he had lots of power left in his legs. Ruben, Jannes and Tom also took part in this race, they respectively finished in a 26^th, 29^th and 37^th position. Frank once again showed that his talents are more closely related to mountainbiking than to roadracing, by making sure a DNF had to be noted behind his name.

The best ranked DM member in the amateur men category was Robbin in 10^th place. Lars, Dennis and Pieter respectively finished in this same race in 21^st, 27^th and 48^th position. The official program ended with the elite/U23 category in which Jesse ended in 18^th place. The unofficial program ended with pizza and good stories about the race. So, despite not being able to bring a jersey back to Maastricht we still had a lovely day.

Last Thursday the association enjoyed an activity organized by the activity committee, this time it was Room Escape Maastricht. 3 teams competed against each other, the women’s team strengthened by Frank escaped the quickest with fifteen minutes remaining. It was a successful evening!
